VIDEOS: Public Art Challenge

Our Public Art Challenge was designed to support temporary projects that celebrate creativity, enhance urban identity, encourage public-private partnerships, and strengthen local economies. Out of 237 submissions, four winning projects were announced in June 2015.

This weekend, the final Public Art Challenge project opens. Gary, Indiana’s Arthouse: A Social Kitchen is using light art to help transform an underutilized downtown building into a cultural hub to showcase visual and culinary arts. Here is a behind-the-scenes video that captures the project in development:

We also want to share videos highlighting the openings of the other three projects in Albany, Schenectady and Troy, NY, Spartanburg, SC, and Los Angeles, CA. Click on the images below to see how the Public Art Challenge has engaged and enriched each community.
